Missions Finance Officer

Elim Missions is the Missions Department of the Elim Movement, UK. It exists to serve the missionary vision of Elim by:

  1. standing alongside our missionary sending churches;
  2. facilitating the sending of missionaries and developing mission activity across the Movement;;
  3. working with our Elim Global partners to advance the gospel across the world.

The Finance Officer will work in the Elim International Centre and reports directly to the Missions Director. You will look after and support the missions’ team in Malvern and the missionaries abroad in financial transactions between donors and teams.

Other duties include:

  • Bank reconciliation, including accessing online and print daily bank statements, match entries where each transaction may be found, produce monthly imports for all standing orders and recurring payments and produce individual imports for all other transactions;
  • Manage the missionary budgets and support on new missionary appointment;
  • Monitoring & reviewing budgets (with IMD);
  • Preparing and submitting Missions budgets;
  • Issuing and recording cash advances;
  • Sorting receipts and updating spreadsheet with expenditure;
  • Coding and creating import for expenditure;
  • Email and phone calls with individuals, churches and missionaries regarding anything to do with finance;
  • Matching receipts for/coding credit card statements;
  • Taking credit card payments from donors over the phone;
  • Produce spreadsheets with all figures for missionaries finances and match spreadsheets with the Finance department on a monthly basis;
  • Maintain Journals, by coding, moving funds as instructed and correct any errors;
  • Correspond with donors and missionaries following cancelled/failed direct debits;
  • Ensuring department expenses are authorised and submitted on time;
  • Matching receipts/coding expenses;
  • Process Gift Aid claims and designate Gift Aid claims when money has been received;
  • Email the IMD with monthly update of funds held in Loan Admin;
  • Create a monthly journal of interest;
  • Correspond with the bank when changes are needed;
  • Correspond with external funding organisations such as CAP and Stewardship;
  • To visit an overseas ministry once a year for approximately 5 days.

Assistant Administrator (Maternity Cover up to 12 Months)

The Elim Administration department serves the whole Elim movement, including the local churches, head office and Regents Theological College. The Administration department is vital to the movement as it deals with a wide range of topics, such as property, safeguarding, data protection and charity law. Furthermore, the Administration department organises the annual Elim Leaders’ Summit.

The Assistant Administrator reports directly to the Administrator and assists the Administrator in all aspects of the Administrator responsibilities.

Other duties include:

  • Constitution: You will advise the local church ministers and officers on constitutional queries and the three model local constitutions;
  • Legal Issues: You will stay up-to-date with relevant changes in legislation and write reports to inform the National Leadership Team and the wider movement of such changes;
  • Charity Mergers: Assist the administrator in ensuring that due legal process is followed and assets and property are transferred when a church joins EFGA;
  • Property Matters: Responding to local church questions. Assist the Administrator in the areas of purchases, development and sale of properties;
  • Management Board: Collating information and assist with the preparation of the reports for the Management Board meetings;
  • Departmental Liaison: Advising other departments on legal and procedural matters;
  • Elim Leaders’ Summit (ELS): Assisting the Administrator in the organisation of the annual ELS. This includes booking venues, speakers and accommodation. Furthermore, you will assist the Administrator in preparing the conference report and agenda and further duties necessary for the successful preparation of ELS;
  • Safeguarding: Assist the Administrator on safeguarding queries and look after the DBS checking procedures;
  • CCLI: Liaison with CCLI over local church licenses and campaigns to ensure our churches keep licences up to date;
  • General Advice: To advice and answer questions from churches on a wide range of topics.

General Catering Assistant

The Elim Conference Centre is an integral part of Elim's International Centre and the Regents Campus, offering accommodation for up to 120 guests, plus a range of meeting and leisure facilities. Fitted out to a high standard, it offers an unrivalled experience in the Christian conference centre market.

The Elim International Centre is situated in Malvern, deep in the Malvern Hills which has been classified as an ‘area of outstanding beauty’. It is set in 34 acres of woodland, 812 feet above sea level, granting us with amazing views over the Herefordshire countryside.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to and working with the Catering Manager and Head Chef, the role is responsible for the front of house service which is in line with the in house standards & statutory regulations. Key elements of the role include:

  • To be responsible for the preparation for the operation’s service.
  • To serve meals, snacks and beverages from all service point to the standards required by the management.
  • To ensure that company and statutory regulations pertaining to Health, Safety & Hygiene are adhered to.
  • To complete ‘IN HOUSE’ documents required.
  • To restock counter and service points as necessary.
  • To clean and stock coffee machines.
  • To deal with customers at all times in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • To undertake cleaning duties of catering equipment, walls, floor, fixtures and fittings.
  • To carry out washing up and pot washing operations.
  • To undertake any other reasonable duty as requested by management.
 

Note - Some unsocial hours working will be required including week-ends and evenings depending on business demand.
